Finding Time - Rev. Jay Wolin
Opening Words in Service today at the Unitarian Universalists of Sarsota
"Welcome Welcome to this place of fasting. Welcome to this place of respite Welcome to this place of challenge We find the time To come together even if it is for just one hour To just sit and be To be with yourself To be with and for your fellow congregants Together on the religious journey No phones to answer No decisions to be made No judgements given or received To accept that we live in a world With the need for balance To build resilience, to build peace Contrasted with the need to be unbalanced If anything is going to change And to live with that paradox Among the myriad of choices That call to us Demand of us Ask of us For a piece of us But for this moment, in this hour We resist that and We recognize The holiness In ourselves In each other And the holiness in time itself As we light our chalice Let it remind us of the light within us That always needs to be rekindled Again and again, and again Let us be that spark for each other"
